Power Transformers
Power transformers are typically used in high-voltage transmission networks, found at power generating stations, transmission substations, and large industrial facilities, where their primary role is to step voltage up for efficient long-distance transmission or step it down for sub-transmission and distribution to entire cities or regions. Unlike distribution transformers that serve individual homes or small commercial sites, power transformers handle much larger capacities (often tens to hundreds of megavolt-amperes) and are usually installed in secured, fenced substations, forming the critical backbone that connects generation to the bulk electrical grid.
